On August 16 at 4:00 p.m., we would like to invite you to view the West Have Safe Summer Basketball championship games, to be held at the United Center—located at 1901 West Madison Street—and recognize five straight years of athletic successes.
The Near West Side CDC is proud to congratulate the young men and women on another season of incident-free summer basketball. Founded in 2007, the Safe Summer Basketball League provides young people with a safe alternative during the summer months when neighborhood crime tends to peak. With 32 teams and 300 players—ranging in age from 10 to 30— the playoff games have drawn hundreds of spectators and supporters, cheering on the players.
Please join us for the game and celebration of community peace. The first game tips off at 4:00. Please enter on the Adams Street entrance, where you can access the United Center through Gate 6 and free parking in Lot K.
